These are 4 of my clients who worked with me during the You, On Fire program and they are here to show you that it is possible to go from obsessing over food and hating your body, to no longer fretting about your reflection and having so much more confidence in who you are outside of how you look.

In this episode, you’ll meet:
Lorelei, Social Worker, Ontario Canada
Lorelei struggled to accept her body day-to-day and was caught in the trap of “always wanting to be more - smaller, healthier, fitter.” She felt like if she was smaller it would make her happier, but realized it was taking her farther away from who she wanted to be.
She had recovered from an eating disorder many years ago and had been practicing Intuitive Eating, but still struggled with the body image piece. She remembers the day she had her daughter and feeling terrified that she was going to be raising a girl.
In You, On Fire, Lorelei was able to focus on being more compassionate with herself, living her life in alignment with her values and practicing acceptance on a daily basis.
Now she says,“It feels lighter. It feels freeing. It feels normal. I feel like myself. I can be authentic and it feels good.”
On being a mother of a girl, now she says,“I’m so happy and so excited for her to grow up and see how amazing life can be and not be bogged down by this constant desire to make yourself smaller.”
“I can live my life and focus on what’s important to me. You, On Fire was able to tie it all together for me.”
Maria, 43, Surrey, UK
Maria’s relationship with her body and food started to shift when she was quite young and when she hit puberty she was comparing her body to other girls and she felt like she couldn’t be herself.
She ultimately dieted for 30 years and had been to OA for a few years, but said she would always end up binging. She “got really fed up with the binge-diet cycle.”
She had worked on her relationship with food, but still had struggles with her body. She talks about this struggle as being like “this soundtrack in the background of not feeling good enough and having this pressure. It felt like my identity.”
She was afraid that if she stopped restricting she’d never stop eating and she couldn’t trust herself. At the same time, she knew she needed to do something different.
Today, Maria says, “It’s so fantastic to be free of this! It’s brilliant. It’s wonderful. Things like being with my husband and family gatherings…it’s all easier.”
“It’s a weight off my mind. The stress is gone and everything is easier.”
Anne, Teacher, New Jersey, US
Anne says that, “my relationship with food had been a hot mess for decades.” She had been chronically dieting for 4 decades and could not figure out why she could never stick to a diet. She says, “there was guilt and shame and no peace.”
She knew that there had to be another way and finding the anti-diet community helped her realize that it was possible.
She talks about how, “it had been terrifying (and exciting also)” to make this shift, but finding her values and leading with them has helped to keep her grounded on this path and have faith that she could trust her body.
She found so much value in the content and community of You, On Fire. She says, “it’s been a total game-changer.”
Now Anne says, “For the first time I’m living in my body and I’m comfortable in it. I feel comfortable in my body for the first time since I was 12.”
“I’m eternally grateful. It feels so good. It feels so different. It feels so good because I didn’t think this was possible.”
Nicole, California, US
Nicole had fully recovered from 2 eating disorders in the past and had a good relationship with her body. However, her body changed postpartum and during the pandemic and it created a lot of stress in her life. She says, “it was taking so much time and energy away from my life. I felt like I was in a prison of my own thoughts and beliefs.”
She knew she needed support from really “intellectualizing body positivity to really embodying it in herself so that she could feel free and love herself no matter what she weighed.”
The coaching calls and community helped her move past intellectually getting it to really knowing and embodying acceptance for herself.
Now she says, “I really don’t care as much. I don’t think about it. I just don’t think about my body…it’s not that much of a thing. I feel that sense of being at home and at ease in my body.”
She was able to buy things she liked and fit to embrace herself and her body. She says she feels like she’s found her innate sense of self-worth beyond the external.
She says, “I have my time and energy back again. I can focus on my creative passions. I’m so much more present with my son. I just do my life.”
“To anyone considering the program…Summer is amazing and it will change your life.”
